MINUTES - MARCH 6, 2007

OPEN MEETING:
Chair B. Sadow opened the March 6, 2007 Planning Commission with a salute to the flag at 7:30 PM.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
A motion was made by A. Santopietro, seconded by T. Keebler, to approve the minutes of the February 6, 2007 Planning Commission meeting as presented. The motion carried 5-0-1, with D. Haubert abstaining, he did not attend the meeting.

A motion was made by A. Santopietro, seconded by T. Keebler, to recommend that the BOS approve extensions for the E. McArdle Subdivision, Cobbler Road L.P. Subdivision and Wehrung Phase II Land Development if they are received prior to the March meeting. The motion carried 6-0-0.

OLD BUSINESS:        Proposed Amendment to Nockamixon Township Zoning Ordinance
                     Amendment to Regulations for Recovery of
Subsurface Oil & Gas Deposits
Information that was discussed at the BOS meeting of February 20, 2007 was forwarded to the Planning Commission for review. The G-18 use is now permitted only in the Quarry and Industrial Districts of the Township. The Board decided not to hire an additional attorney due to time constraints. After a lengthy discussion, the majority of the Planners agreed that if no problems are encountered after initial drilling in the Industrial & Quarry districts, open it to Residential and Residential/Agriculture Districts.
A motion was made by D. Haubert, seconded by A. Santopietro, to forward the Proposed Amendment to The Nockamixon Township Zoning Ordinance amendment to Regulations for Recovery of Subsurface Oil & Gas Deposits per the Clemons correspondence of March 2, 2007.
The motion carried 5-1-0 with C. Bahnck voting nay.

PUBLIC COMMENT:
-S. Mendelson invited the Planners to the screening of “An Inconvenient Truth” at Palisades High School on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 7:00PM to be followed by a round-table discussion.
-B. Keyser commented that he would like to have a work session with the Engineer regarding the SALDO and how it works with the Comp. Plan. and other zoning ordinances.

ADJOURNMENT:
A motion was made by A. Santopietro, seconded by T. Keebler, to adjourn the Planning Commission meeting at 8:05 PM. The motion carried 6-0-0.
