Nockamixon Township Board of Supervisors

Work Session Meeting – May 28, 2009

HOME

The work session meeting for Nockamixon Township Board of Supervisors was opened at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday, May 28, 2009 by Chairperson Nancy Janyszeski. In attendance were Vice Chairperson Bruce Keyser, Supervisors Henry Gawronski, Jim Litzenberger and Albert Santopietro. Also in attendance were George Housworth, Road Master and Keith DeLuca, Township Treasurer.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chairperson Janyszeski.

Discussion by the Board included but not limited to the current budgeted expenses. In particular, cable franchise fees, building and zoning fees. Building and zoning fees should equal fees paid for services from Keystone Municipal Services. Also are re-inspection fees legal?

The Supervisors are curious as to the amount of hours per week the building/zoning officer is contracted for. Request a copy of the contract from Keystone.

Chairperson Janyszeski asks the Treasurer if he contacted the local fire companies in regards to performing fire alarm inspections. He had inquired and they all responded that they do not.

The Road Master is asked by the Supervisors, what the amount of hours, per season is needed to mow the ball fields. His response is 2 people per week for 6 hours each. Supervisor Litzenberger estimates this to be over 200 hours per season. The Board will consider billing Park and Rec for cutting and maintain the ball fields. Also in order to save money next year can we look at reducing the number of roads that will be tarred and chipped.

Motion to set the Treasurers hours at 30 hours per week, additional hours if needed, as directed by the Board. Motion made by Supervisor Santopietro, seconded by Supervisor Keyser.

Motion for the Treasurer to receive paid holidays, retroactive from 1/1/2009, made by Supervisor Litzenberger and seconded by Supervisor Santopietro.

A motion is made by Supervisor Santopietro and seconded by Supervisor Gawronski to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 P.M. Motion carried 5-0-0.

Respectfully Submitted,

Keith R. DeLuca

Treasurer
