Nockamixon Township Board of Supervisors

Work Session Meeting – January 22, 2009

The work session meeting for Nockamixon Township Board of Supervisors was opened at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday, January 22, 2009 by Chairperson Nancy Janyszeski. In attendance were Vice Chairperson Bruce Keyser, Supervisors Henry Gawronski, Jim Litzenberger and Albert Santopietro. Also in attendance was Keith DeLuca, Township Treasurer.

After the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chairperson Janyszeski, she inquired if there was any old business before moving on. Supervisor Gawronski would like to amend his January 20, 2009 vote, on decreasing the Treasurer’s Hours to 30 hours per week, to nay.

The Board will focus on reviewing changes to the 2007 Fee Schedule as proposed by Keystone Municipal Services. Supervisor Litzenberger would like to state for the record that the Board did receive a letter from Robert Wynn’s office in regards to reviewing the fee schedule, the letter was also forwarded to Keystone with Steve Baluh’s recommendations. Keystone also furnished a comparison chart of fees charged in eight Townships including Nockamixon. Supervisor Gawrorski challenges the validity of Keystone’s figures. The remaining Supervisors compliment Keystone for preparing the chart.

Discussion includes but not limited to keeping a majority of the fees the same. The board refers to the chart to compare what other Townships charge. Also in this discussion are fees for commercial buildings. Supervisor Santopietro asks about a grace period, specifically a 60 day grace period, afterward a penalty would triple the fee.

A motion is made by Supervisor Santopietro and seconded by Supervisor Gawronski to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 P.M. Motion carried 5-0-0.

Respectfully Submitted

Keith R. DeLuca

Treasurer
