LOCAL EMERGENCY NOTIFICATIONS

This year, Kintnersville resident Louise Caughey and her 13-year old son Luke have arranged with Nockamixon Township and Allentown-based Advanced Environmental Recycling Corporation (AERC) to hold the first annual Electronic Recycling Event in conjunction with Nockamixon¹s annual Spring Clean-Up Day on April 26, 2008.

The collection will take place from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Nockamixon Township building on Lake Warren Rd. in Ferndale. They are soliciting student volunteers from the Palisades Middle and High Schools to help staff the event. In addition to the appliances, tires and other items that Nockamixon normally collects, the volunteer recyclers will be collecting electronic items such as computer CPUs and peripherals, scanners, faxes, DVD players, VCRs, phones, TVs, household and car batteries and fluorescent light bulbs. Currently, no other townships in Upper Bucks currently collect these items for recycling.

   1. Every third Saturday of the month from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Items that you can recycle are: Newspaper (tied in brown bags, NOT PLASTIC) , aluminum and steel cans; plastic bottles #1 and #2); glass items (brown, green and/or clear)
