JOINT WORK SESSION
May 7, 2008
AJoint Work Session of the Nockamixon Township Board of Supervisors, regarding Community Day was held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 7:30PM at the Township Building in Ferndale, PA. Chairperson Nancy Janyszeski opened the meeting with a salute to the flag. Other members present were Supervisors H. Gawronski, B. Keyser, and A. Santopietro. Absent: Vice-Chairman J. Litzenberger. In attendance were the Office Personnel: Secretary, A. Eichlin, Treasurer, G. Monteleone, Road Department Personnel: Road Master, G. Houseworth and Road Crew, E. Ridge and S. Weaver.
This meeting was advertised in the Delaware Valley News-Thursday, January 31, 2008.
A motion was made by H. Gawronski, seconded by A. Santopietro, to approve the April 2, 2008 minutes as presented. The motion carried 4-0-0.
N. Janyszeski commented that this work session is being held to discuss job descriptions and address any concerns.
Issues under discussion included:
- The purchase of a new tree pruner and chipper for the Road Department. It was the consensus of the Board that the Road Department could purchase a pruner at a price not to exceed $600.00. The Board will discuss purchase order amount limits at the next regular meeting.
- Pension Plan Update. PMRS is performing a cost study and will advise of their findings.
- General maintenance needed at the Township building.
- Employee Manual Review
- Developer’s check list and enactment of same.
- Computer for the Road Department and/or a sign-on for e-mails.
The Road Crew left the meeting at 8:30PM
- Township ledgers, ongoing reconciliation of accounts.
- Draft in the file name until minutes are approved.
- Office procedures including mail and answering phones.
- Removal and filing of paperwork (subdivision/land development) and purchase of four-drawer file cabinet.
The Board suggested moving the desk being utilized by the Zoning Officer and the Building Code Official into the file room, leaving more room in the front office.
A motion was made by H. Gawronski, seconded by A. Santopietro, to adjourn the work session at 8:57 PM. The motion carried 4-0-0.
