OPEN SPACE COMMITTEE Minutes March 23, 2009 Members Present Nancy Alessi Ellen Chapman Patricia Rivell Elsie McHale John Courtney Harry McGarrity John MacFarland Sanci Tenney Supervisors present: Nancy Janyszeski, Liaison, and Bruce Keyser The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM. Administrative Distributed and updated Open Space Guide notebooks Secretary for Meeting was Ellen Chapman Approved Feb. 23, 2009 minutes Old Business Financing Review: tabled Updated lists of Appraisers and legal firms tabled awaiting combined update of data from other municipalities and conservation group to be supplied by N. Alessi and S. Tenney so that it can be confirmed and reviewed by P. Rivell and G. Westerfer Community outreach - discussion about using the township web page to provide information about the Open Space conservation easements. Discussion included using a multi-faceted environmental review of a property as a mean of attracting more attention to OSC on the web site. Sub committee to meet in April and report at next meeting New Business Conservation by Design Booklet/article to be read for consideration and discussion at the next meeting. Natural Land Trust review of the township ordinances: N. Janyszeki to obtain a copy of their review. County Natural Areas inventory to be updated. Request to all OSC members for properties or areas of interest to be submitted to the County for consideration. Several dates of April meetings, forums, presentations of other Nockamixon Committees and groups with similar goals to those of OSC in the surrounding area were presented for information and possible attendance by committee members. Open Space Fest- agreed to invite various Upper Bucks municipal open space committees, or township officials with open space portfolios ( Bridgeton, Durham, Haycock, Springfield and Tinicum) and Bedminster, Tinicum and Heritage conservancies. Agreed to hold it in a public place (e.g. American Grill) with cost to be paid by attendees. Time, date (June 30 th), and specific invitees to be further reviewed and reported upon at the next meeting. Major Subdivisions: OSC Review Status - Ongoing Christman : Alessi, Rivell and Westerfer; Harrow Station: Tenney; Hoffman: Hansen and Chapman; Lonely Cottage (Morton): Tenney and Hughes - added Cobbler Way : Tenney and Courtland Engineer’s monthly report - efforts to be made with Township engineer to be more aware of confirming that OSC has commented on all major subdivision plans Planning Commission meeting 3/3/08: J.
