January

  • Election of Officials
  • Contacted Palisades to review prints of all building with goal of identifying vulnerable areas and areas of high risk to emergency 1 st responders in the event of lock down or natural or man made disaster

 

February

  • EMA attends training session on RSAN system
  • EMA informs Bucks County EMA of deficiencies in RSAN System
  • Emergency Notification Plan updated

 

March

  • Emergency Operations Plan Updated
  • Emergency Operation Center method and procedure reviewed and completed
  • Mock drill held with new members activating EOC successfully

 

 

April

  • Saturday April 4 th tornadic activity observed via dopler heading towards our area. Team was placed on stand-by until threat passed
  • Team members assigned to functional areas of responsibility in conformance with PEMA standards
  • Emergency call out procedures constructed and finalized

 

May

  • Members assigned to address animals in distress during emergency conditions. BCART notified and asked to participate
  • More planning so as to identify suitability of using ReadyNotify PA in times of emergency

June

  • Mock drill held to identify township areas that need to be notified during area specific emergency events as well as full township notification

July

  • July 27 th township experiences a tornadic event. EOC activates and reroutes traffic through township while assisting clean up crews in reopening RT 611
  • Meet with BCEMA staff to assess property damage
  • Team members attend disaster planning seminar sponsored by Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster

 

August

  • August 2 nd area experience torrential down pour that causes EMA to activate to assess damages.
  • Traffic re-routed and PennDot notified of specific areas in need of attention
  • Team develops process that assigns members a specific geographic area to assess in the event of a severe weather related incident along with back up coverage

 

September

  • EMA performs critical test of ReadyNotify system and find numerous deficiencies
  • We find that local phone company can not accommodate the influx of incoming calls
  • Full blown test report written and given to BCEMA on ReadyNotify PA
  • Nockamixon Day participation

October

  • EMA performs communications test to determine if we can use short range 2-way devices. Results are negative
  • Contact is made with new liaison for Palisades SD and PA State Police
