BUSINESS

BOS/EAC Joint Work Session – The date will be confirmed or set at the next BOS meeting.

Community Day theme & presentation - Various ideas for a theme were discussed including the proper disposal of prescription medicines. Other ideas were focused on a composting toilet and further education on water testing.

TCE discussion- PADEP public meeting – The meeting was held on 5/25/2011 amid complaint that not enough notice was given to all those who might be interested or affected by the problem. The County did not put in an appearance at this meeting. Discussion centered around the cost of testing and remedies for dangerous levels. We could also attempt to encourage township residents to have their water tested, especially for those in the affected areas.

ACT 537 – Jeff informed the committee that Steve Baluh was finishing his revisions. The committee requested a copy of this which Jeff will send as available.

10 year Water Management Plan Committee - The BOS will hopefully move forward with this committee.

Quarry Inspection - A date has not yet been set pending resolution of some of the legal issues.

Alternative Energy Ordinance - This ordinance is now before the BOS. The EAC hopes that it will be able to see and comment on this ordinance before it is passed.

New Items:

Report on Hidden Valley Landfill – Some test results were received from Bucks County. Steve noted that this was a minimal test which showed such items as excess iron and nitrogen, but not items of interest such as TCE or arsenic. The committee wishes to encourage the BOS to continue to press for more extensive testing.

Sharon had talked to some representatives from the horse park about the trail situation. She has pictures from adjoining properties that show some debris fields from the work at Hidden Valley. This could be discussed at the joint work session with the BOS.

EAC Handbook Review – The members of the committee reported on the chapters that they had been assigned. For some of the longer chapters, the members will attempt to put together a written summary.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:37 PM. Motion by T. Fritz, second by S. Tenney.

Next meeting July 14 at 7:00 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Terry Fritz
