Minutes – August 12, 2010

Call to order 7:10 PM by S. Donovan.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE: Minutes of the July 8, 2010 were approved as amended, motion made by Sanci Tenney, second by S. Mendelson.

 

BUSINESS

 

Riparian Buffers - Educational Seminar Program. The EAC committee discussed the minutes created after the June 24, 2010 meeting with the BOS. The EAC will create an enhanced set of minutes for the use of all and submit this to the Township. As far as action of follow up items the EAC committee believes that these include:

  • Review of definitions and update these in applicable ordnances.
  • Note and include new law changes.
  • The BOS will look into the quarry berm which is collapsing facing Rt. 611.
  • The BOS will follow up with the zoning officer on questions concerning wells and the groundwater ordnance.
  • A thank you letter to Mark Gallagher.

 

New Items:

 

Burning Trash/Refuse . The committee noted that there was a barrel of smoking construction waste out in back of the Township building. This will be mentioned in the report to the BOS.

 

Review of EAC page on Township website - The committee identified a number of inaccuracies and problems with the existing page and will request the BOS to devise a way that the EAC can correct same.

 

Community Day- Discussion as to what and how to present. Conclusions will await further discussion.

 

Protect your Groundwater Day. The. Committee will present a draft resolution to the BOS to see if the BOS will support a groundwater education day. The motion to prepare and submit this resolution was moved by T. Fritz and seconded by S. Tenney.

 

EAC of Bucks County Meeting . It was noted that there will be an annual gathering of this group on September 25, 2010.

 

Township Mowing Schedule. A. Balogh noted that the heavy mowing or clearing of high grass and bushes in hedgerows and borders was very harmful to birds that nest in those locales. Accordingly the EAC will recommend to the BOS that this type of mowing be scheduled only in the late fall and winter when there is no nesting activity.

Site visit 2/9/08- EAC and PHydro report submitted 2/20/08, 5/31/08 & 3/10/09. PC approved 9/2/08. Further revised plan submitted with action required by 9/28/10. T. Fritz

Marienstein Rd TMP 30-11-164-5, 30-11-164-2, and 30-11-164-3; 20.179 Acres; 5 Lot Residential Subdivision

Site visit 3/22/08. EAC and PHydro report submitted4/7/08, 9/11/08. Action required by 9/30/10. T. Fritz.

 

  • Morton Subdivision Lonely Cottage Road TMP 30-11-5; 19.39 Acres; 3 Lot Residential Subdivision

Site visit dated May 14, 2008. EAC review letter issued 6/17/08. PHydro letter dated 6/7/08. Revised plans submitted 11/17/09 – 1/5/10 applicant to resubmit. Awaiting reply to EAC and PHydro concerns. Action required by 6/30/10. S. Donovan

 

The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 PM. Motion by T. Fritz, second by S. Tenney.
