Work Session Meeting – September 30, 2010

 

The Nockamixon Township Board of Supervisors work session meeting, which was advertised in January 2010, was opened at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday, September 30, 2010 by Chairperson Nancy Janyszeski. In attendance were Supervisors Carl Bahnck, Bill Sadow and Albert Santopietro. Also in attendance is Keith DeLuca, Township Treasurer. Vice Chairman Bruce Keyser did not attend tonight’s meeting.

 

After the Pledge of Allegiance, Chairperson Janyszeski announces that there will be an executive session with the Supervisors from Bridgeton and Tinicum Townships on October 27, 2010 at the Nockamixon Township Building.

 

A motion is made by Chairperson Janyszeski and seconded by Supervisor Sadow to approve additional work as an extension of the original contract with Litzenberger Excavating to reseed the basin at Kintner Ridge for an estimated cost of $1,075.00. The motion carries 4-0-0.

 

The Board directs the Treasurer to follow up a request for proposal to Bee, Bergvall & Co and provide them with the necessary information they need to furnish the Township with estimate for their services.

 

The Treasurer requests authorization from the Board to inquire about the possibility of changing utility providers namely; electric, phone and internet to reduce costs. The board takes a consensus and approves the request.

 

Discussion continues on the budget. The Treasurer directs the board to line item 438.372, bridge repair, $25,000 has been committed to this project. After discussion with the Township Engineer and Treasurer the Board concluded that funding will come from the road improvement fund as shown on line item 392.02. Other line items have been corrected to reflect current charges. The budget is complete apart from health insurance costs; the Board will revisit the budget once these costs are finalized.

 

A motion was made to adjourn the work session meeting at 9:00 PM by Chairperson Janyszeski and seconded by Supervisor Sadow. The motion carries 4-0-0.
